TOTAL
Launching PP grades based on non-phthalate catalysts
Total Petrochemicals & Refining (Brussels / Belgium; www.totalrefiningchemicals.com), a unit of French petrochemicals giant Total (Paris; www.total.com), is now able to offer a complete range of PP grades – homopolymers, random copolymers and impact copolymers – using non-phthalate catalysts.
Working in close co-operation with industry partners, the company said it has identified numerous market segments that could benefit from the new range. These segments are primarily packaging, flexible and rigid, healthcare and personal care applications, including the medical market. Total now markets non-phthalate catalysed PP solutions to produce trays, boxes, pails, caps and bottles among others.
Total’s vice president Polymers Europe, Jean-Francois Renglet, said this latest development is “the culmination of an evolution in our PP portfolio that started several years ago.”
