Swiss group in exclusive talks to acquire PU and epoxy resins specialist Axson Technologies
Swiss speciality chemicals producer Sika (Baar; www.sika.com) has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire Axson-Technologies (Cergy / France; www.axson-technologies.com), the PU and epoxy resins arm of the Axson Group (Cergy / France; www.axson-group.com). The proposed purchase price was not disclosed and the deal is subject to anti-trust approvals in several jurisdictions as well as negotiations with employee representatives, Sika said. There was no indication of when the proposed acquisition will be completed.
Axson Technologies operates 12 subsidiaries and 6 production centres worldwide, in addition to a network of 26 exclusive distributors. It has a presence in France, Germany, the UK, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Michigan (North America), Mexico, Japan, China, India and the United Arab Emirates, among others. The company produces epoxy and PU formulations for design, prototyping and tooling structural adhesives, composite materials and encapsulation products for a range of end markets, including the automotive, renewable energy and construction sectors.
