Film manufacturer RKW (Frankenthal / Germany; www.rkw-group.com) has inaugurated a plant for the production of backsheet film for absorbent hygiene products in Guangzhou / China. Built on a greenfield site, the unit complements seven other facilities operated by the company across Europe, North America and Egypt serving the disposable hygiene market.

During the inauguration ceremony for RKW Guangzhou, group CEO Harald Biederbick, said, “Today, we have arrived in China and are starting to fill an important white spot on our footprint."

RKW processes more than 420,000 t/y of plastics at its 23 global production sites. The family-run group posted sales of EUR 940m in 2014.
