Ahead of its planned takeover of agricultural films specialist Hyplast (Hoogstraten / Belgium; www.hyplast.be) – see Plasteurope.com of 05.03.2014 – German films producer RKW (Frankenthal; www.rkw-group.com) in March announced that effective 1 January 2014, its Michelstadt and Philippsthal operations, both located in Germany, have been incorporated in a new spin-off. RKW Agri will handle all the group’s strategic alliances in the agricultural films and nets sector. If the takeover of Hyplast is successful, the Belgian group’s activities would become part of RKW Agri as well.

Commenting on the incorporation, group CEO Roland Roth said, “By being legally independent, this global business area achieves the necessary prominence and significantly more commercial freedom to continue to grow successfully in the future. Moreover, this step will create more opportunities for strategic alliances and takeovers”.
