POLYMER SERVICE PSG
Exclusive production and sale of swissGEL's new polyolefin additive “Accelothene” in Europe
Germany’s Polymer-Service PSG
) has acquired the exclusive license to manufacture and sell the “Accelothene” processing additive developed by swissGEL
(Schlieren / Switzerland; www.swissgel.ch
) in Europe. Accelothene improves the quality of injection moulded polyolefins, shortens cycle times and also reduces energy consumption, the German group said. In addition, the additive is said to improve flowability, lower processing temperature and speed up the crystallisation of polyolefins. These characteristics yield not only higher productivity, Polymer-Service PSG said, they also allow for the instalment of additional capacities while simultaneously lowering manufacturing costs by up to 30%.

A migration-free additive, Accelothene easily disperses in PE, PP, PP/EPDM as well as TPO and TPV, regardless of whether the material consists of resin, recyclate or regrind. SwissGEL’s patented technology reportedly creates a three-dimensional cross-linked plastic by means of physical crosslinking and co-crystallization. This is then bound into the polyolefin’s molecular structure and therefore remains within the finished product. PSG says Accelothene is particularly suited to injection moulded pieces with high plastification requirements, high shot volume, long flow lines, strong barrier thicknesses as well as moulding geometry parts.
