European Plastics Converters (EuPC, Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticsconverters.eu) has launched its third survey on the use of recycled plastics by European converters. The survey is being conducted in collaboration with Polymer Comply Europe (PCE, Brussels; www.polymercomplyeurope.eu) and is available in English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Spanish and Turkish.

The poll launched on 2 September and is open until 1 December 2019 on PCE’s website. It is asking Europe’s plastics converters to provide their opinions on using recycled polymers, with a focus on supply, performance and the barriers faced when incorporating recyclate into products. The results will be published in the first quarter of 2020. The previous survey results were published in January 2019 and showed that the plastics processing industry was sceptical about achieving the EU targets for recyclate usage – see Plasteurope.com of 18.01.2019.

EuPC managing director Alexandre Dangis says the third edition of the survey, along with the association’s “MORE” platform for monitoring recycled plastics usage – see Plasteurope.com of 26.04.2019 – “will help us to find appropriate solutions for the future and demonstrate our commitment to a more sustainable plastics economy.”
