PLASTICS COLOR / RASCHIG
Sales agreement for thermosets in Europe
US-based Plastics Color Corporation (PCC, Calumet City, Illinois; www.plasticscolor.com), a producer of colour concentrates, compounds and additive masterbatches, and Raschig (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.raschig.de) have agreed to a cooperation which will have the German company selling PCC's thermoset moulding compounds throughout Europe. Both companies are subsidiaries of privately owned US conglomerate PMC Global (Sun Valley, California; www.pmcglobalinc.com).
Under the terms, Raschig, which manufactures a wide range of chemicals and speciality resins, is to distribute the entire line of additives, masterbatches and related polymer technologies. It produces several lines of thermosets including melamine, epoxy, polyester and phthalates. The company has two German production sites in Ludwigshafen and Espenhain as well as a Dutch site in Hoek van Holland. PCC, with more than 40 years of experience in the polymer industry, operates production sites and laboratory facilities in California, Illinois, North Carolina and Nanjing / China.
"The expanded relationship between PCC and Raschig will help both companies better serve customers by offering a more complete line of polymer products for a wider variety of manufacturing needs and markets," said Timothy Workman, a vice president at PCC.
