BASF declares all forces majeures in PA 6.6 chain over / New orders now being accepted
With effect from 28 September, BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) has declared all forces majeures along its PA chain to have ended. In a letter to customers, the German chemicals and plastics giant said its ability to supply compounds is likely to stabilise over the course of October, and it has now begun accepting new orders.
The group said the technical problems at its HMD plant at Seal Sands in the UK that led to FM declarations for HMD as well as AH salt and PA 6.6 base polymer – see Plasteurope.com of 18.06.2015 – and the knock-on FM for its “Ultramid” and “Capron” PA 6.6 compounds in Europe – see Plasteurope.com of 18.06.2015 – have been resolved.
