The board of directors of PolyOne (Cleveland, Ohio / USA; www.polyone.com) has appointed Robert Patterson as new president and chief executive officer. He will assume the position on 15 May, in the wake of the retirement of Stephen Newlin, who is to stay on as executive chairman of the company’s board of directors. Patterson currently serves as executive vice president and chief operating officer.

The US compounder and distributor posted revenues of USD 3.8 bn in 2013, up 32% year-on-year, while operating income increased by 68% to USD 231.5m – see Plasteurope.com of 03.02.2014. PolyOne currently is in the midst of restructuring its North American operations.
