Oxo chemicals producer Oxea (Oberhausen / Germany; www.oxea-chemicals.com) has launched a range of phthalate-free and non-VOC plasticisers. Marketed under the names “Oxsoft Duo 1” and “Oxsoft Duo 2”, the products are designed to address concerns about the migration of plasticisers. They are suitable for applications such as wall coverings, flooring, roofing and artificial leather.

Oxea said Oxsoft Duo 1 has an excellent migration profile, combined with low viscosity for good processability and better than normal cold temperature properties. Oxsoft Duo 2 has a further improved migration profile, while remaining easy to process.

The company is adding new production capacity for phthalate-free plasticisers by expanding in Europe and building a new plant in China – see also Plasteurope.com of 14.07.2012. “To better serve our customers, Oxea is extending its current European capacity to 60,000 - 70,000 t/y and a new production unit in Nanjing / China is already under construction,” said Miguel Mantas, executive board member responsible for sales and marketing.
