Portfolio now includes new TPE grades from Francesco Franceschetti
Francesco Franceschetti Elastomeri (FFE, Corte Franca / Italy; www.f-franceschetti.it) has expanded its “Marfran” range of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE, TPO) compounds for industrial applications, and the new grades have been added to the distribution portfolio of its cooperation partner Nordmann, Rassmann (NRC, Hamburg / Germany; www.nrc.de). NRC distributes Francesco Franceschetti’s products in Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Norway, Austria, Sweden and Switzerland.
The additions include “Marfran ELF”, a TPE product range with good flowability and little fogging, the German distributor reports. Tested according to ISO 6452, the grade reduces emissions by about 65% compared to standard TPEs, NRC says, adding that this makes it particularly suitable for use in automotive interior as well as other applications that require little fogging.
Francesco Franceschetti also introduced “Marfran E EH”, a range of oil-free TPE compounds with hardness levels ranging from Shore A45 to Shore A95. The grades were specifically designed for 2K processing with different polyethylenes, and increase the group’s family of compounds that are compatible with polyolefins. The products offered to date had been suitable only for 2K processing with PP.
The launch also includes “Marfran E CDT” and “Marfran E CDT-P”, two series of electrically conductive and antistatic compounds, available both permanent and semi-permanent, and with hardnesses ranging from Shore A to Shore D. NRC says the surface resistance of both grades extends from 102 Ohm/cm2 to 1012 Ohm/cm2, pointing out that both mechanical properties and colour can be arranged according to customer specifications. The Italian group can also make available grades that can withstand steam sterilisation of up to 134°C, used predominantly for medical applications.
