Packaging specialist MeadWestvaco (Richmond, Virginia / USA; www.mwv.com) is to sell its global media and entertainment packaging business to Atlas Holdings (Greenwich, Connecticut / USA; www.atlasholdingsllc.com) for USD 68m (EUR 54m). The media business specialises in packaging for DVDs, music and video games and has around 1,450 employees. Principal operations are in the US, UK, Austria, France, Ireland, Germany, Poland, The Netherlands and Australia.

Businesses that operate under the names AGI Media, AGI Amaray and AGI Polymatrix are included in the sale. Completion of the transaction is expected on 30 September 2010.
