MAUSER
IBC and reconditioning joint venture in Mexico
Mauser USA (East Brunswick, New Jersey / USA) – the North American subsidiary of German industrial packaging specialist Mauser Group (Brühl; www.mausergroup.com) – has established an IBC and reconditioning joint venture with Servicios Ambientales Internacionales (SAI, Apodaca / Mexico; www.serviciosambientales.com.mx) in Mexico. Mauser International Mexico (MIM) produces both new and reconditioned UN-certified IBCs, with a variety of valves and closure systems. It operates facilities in Toluca (production), Queretaro (washing) and Monterrey.
The containers, which are capable of transporting up to 1000 l of industrial liquids and ingredients, are available both new and as “washed” or “rebottled” units, Mauser said. MIM also offers its customers the service of picking up their empty IBCs and plastic drums.
Commenting on the jv, Siegfried Weber, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Mauser Group, said, “Supplying customers with industrial packaging is simply not good enough anymore. If you truly want to help customers solve problems, then you need to provide a comprehensive solution from supplying new and reconditioned packaging as well as picking up the empty units once they have been used, then providing an environmentally friendly solution with the empty package ranging from washing and reuse to washing and regrinding into post-consumer resin.”
