More than 10,400 visitors attended this year’s triennial “interplas” industry fair (www.interplasuk.com), which took place in Birmingham / UK from 30 September to 2 October, organiser Rapid News Communications (Tattenhall, Cheshire / UK; www.rapidnews.com) reports. The figure constitutes a rise of 10% against the 2011 edition. Considering the fact that exhibitor numbers were up, too, and coupled with an expanded show floor, the visitor numbers “underline once again that interplas is the definite event serving the UK plastics industry”, the organiser said.

The share of international visitors to the fair also rose, with attendees hailing from 56 different countries. Rapid News Communications said that the post-show feedback it has received to date has also been “unequivocally positive” with a lot of exhibitors making sales and testifying to more optimism in the industry overall.

Summing up the sentiment, event director Duncan Wood said, “2014 represents a second consecutive edition with solid growth on all the key metrics of number of visitors, exhibitors and space sold. We now have a truly solid platform on which to build a world class event.”

The next interplas will be held in Birmingham from 26-28 September 2017.
