New tooling production site in China inaugurated
Swiss advanced composites producer Gurit (Wattwill; www.gurit.com) has inaugurated the new tooling production campus at its subsidiary Red Maple in Taicang / China. Following an investment of CHF 15m, the 85,000 m2 production campus now includes two new production halls, which have doubled the existing tooling shop floor to 24,000 m2. Gurit will develop and manufacture blade moulds in the halls, each of which has three production bays equipped with massive cranes to move the moulds. The Swiss company expects all the new additions to the site, located nearby deep-water ports, to be functioning by autumn this year.
Gurit had acquired Red Maple at the end of last year – see Plasteurope.com of 15.12.2009.
