Neil Chapman likely to fill the shoes of outgoing president Stephen Pryor
Following the announcement that ExxonMobil Chemical (Baytown, Texas / USA; www.exxonmobil.com) president Stephen Pryor will retire on 1 January 2015, the company said it anticipates that its board of directors will appoint Neil Chapman – currently senior vice president of Polymers – as his successor.
Pryor was first appointed president in 2008, while Chapman became senior vice president of Polymers in 2011.
With revenues of more than USD 39 bn (about EUR 30 bn) and volume sales of more than 24m t in 2013, ExxonMobil Chemical is one of the world's largest petrochemical companies. According to Plasteurope.com's Polyglobe capacity database (www.polyglobe.net), the group is the world's third largest standard thermoplastics producer, on the heels of Sinopec and Sabic. About 9m t/y of its overall nameplate capacity consists of polyethylene, making ExxonMobil the world's largest PE producer.
