Deborah Borg appointed president of Dow USA

As part of its goal to strengthen its geographic focus, US chemicals giant Dow (Midland, Michigan; www.dow.com) has appointed Deborah Borg as president of Dow USA. In this position, Borg will be responsible for coordinating the company’s activities across the US, developing and overseeing a strategy for the region and coordinating the different businesses, functions and operations.
Commenting on the appointment, Dow CEO Andrew Liveris said, “The need for a strong leader to represent our interest and to develop and oversee a strategy in the US has been in discussion for some years, and with Deborah’s appointment, we are now ready to fully address the opportunities for Dow.” Borg will report to chief commercial officer Joe Harlan and CEO Liveris.
Borg first joined Dow in 2000 as Human Resource manager of Australia and New Zealand. She has held a number of HR functions in Asia, Europe and North America since, most recently that of vice president of Human Resources.
