Cooperation with Elevance to develop renewable plastics additives
Swiss speciality chemicals manufacturer Clariant (Muttenz; www.clariant.com) has entered into a cooperation with Elevance Renewable Sciences (Bolingbrok, Illinois / USA; www.elevance.com) to develop renewable plastics additives. The cooperation makes the most of Clariant’s market knowledge and formulation development capabilities as well as Elevance’s patented olefin metathesis technology.
Commenting on the agreement, further details of which were not disclosed, Elevance vice president sales and market development Andy Shafer said: “This is the beginning of a collaboration that can bring renewable solutions with enhanced performance to the market today and expand significantly over the next three to five years.”
