Chippewa Falls-based ChemCeed (Wisconsin / USA; www.chemceed.com) has become a North American distributor for several bioplastics produced by German compounding specialist FKuR (Willich / Germany; www.fkur.com). They include PLA blend “Bio-Flex”, cellulose blend “Biograde” as well as wood plastic composite compound “Fibrolon”. All grades are suitable for injection moulding, ChemCeed said, adding that “Bio-Flex” can also be extruded.

The US group said FKuR’s bioplastics are capable of overcoming both thermal and shear sensitivity as well as incompatibility problems linked to many other bioplastics currently on the market. Aside from marketing and distributing the grades, ChemCeed will also provide full technical support.
