Composites Germany umbrella organisation joins EuCIA / Replaces AVK
Founded last year by Germany’s four leading fibre-reinforced composites industry groups, Composites Germany (Berlin / Germany; www.composites-germany.org) has replaced the German Federation of Reinforced Plastics (AVK, Frankfurt / Germany; www.avk-tv.de) as a member in the European composites industry umbrella organisation European Composites Industry Association (EuCIA, Brussels / Belgium; www.eucia.eu). The group will not only represent the interests of the German composites industry at the European level, but also act as European representative for German companies. Following the switch, Elmar Witten, managing director of AVK and management spokesman for Composites Germany, will remain on EuCIA’s board.
Composites Germany is made up of AVK, Carbon Composites (Augsburg / Germany; www.carbon-composites.eu), CFK-Valley Stade (Stade / Germany; http://cfk-valley.com) and the Forum Composite Technology in the German association for plastics and rubber machinery, VDMA Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen (KuG, Frankfurt; http://kug.vdma.org). Representing more than 750 member companies, Composites Germany is the largest national association within EuCIA.
