French group sets up 3D printing centre at Sartomer in the US
Arkema (Colombes / France; www.arkema.com) has set up a centre for additive manufacturing at its US subsidiary Sartomer in Exton, Pennsylvania. A former subsidiary of Total, Sartomer is focused on coatings and resins, and will develop 3D-printable and UV-curable materials for dental, sports and electronics applications based on its own formulations. The centre will house technologies such as stereolithography (SLA), digital light processing (DLP) and multi-jet printing (MJP), among others.
Arkema has established a development partnership with German 3D printing specialist Electro Optical Systems (EOS, Krailling; www.eos.info). The collaboration is to develop 3D printing powders based on high-temperature thermoplastics in Europe – see Plasteurope.com of 07.02.2018.
