Arkema (Colombes / France; www.arkema.com) has appointed Swiss speciality chemicals producer and distributor Omya (Oftringen; www.omya.com) as the exclusive pan-European distributor of its “Plastistrength”, “Clearstrength”, “Durastrength” and “Biostrength” range of impact modifiers and processing aid solutions. The only countries not covered by the agreement are Spain and Portugal.

The appointment follows Arkema’s announcement in early June that its “Clearstrength” MBS impact modifiers for PVC, PC and PC/PBT as well as PC/ABS blends are now available in commercial quantities worldwide – see Plasteurope.com of 10.06.2014. The French company produces all the grades marketed by Omya at its plant in Vlissingen / The Netherlands.
