AMERPLAST
Marketing Braskem's “Green PE” in Europe
Flexible packaging solutions provider Amerplast (Tampere / Finland; www.amerplast.com) has signed a supply partnership agreement with Braskem (São Paulo / Brazil; www.braskem.com.br) to market the latter’s sugarcane-based “Green PE” in Europe. Commenting on the deal, Amerplast CEO Børge Kvamme said, “As today’s customers value sustainable packaging, our partnership with Braskem enables us to offer our customers a sustainable and innovative alternative to their packaging needs while contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases.”

The Brazilian group’s biopolymers are also being distributed in Europe by German bioplastics compounding specialist FKuR (Willich; www.fkur.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 30.11.2011.

Amerplast is currently expanding into new markets, as part of its goal of becoming a “leading European packaging company.” In February the company signed a deal with PerfoTec (Mijdrecht / The Netherlands; www.perfotec.com) to market the latter’s equipment across Europe – see Plasteurope.com of 10.02.2015.
