ALBIS PLASTIC
Portfolio now includes new “Purell” PP grades from LyondellBasell
German distributor and compounder Albis Plastic (Hamburg; www.albis.com) has expanded its portfolio with the addition of further “Purell” PP grades produced by LyondellBasell (LBI, Houston, Texas / USA; www.lyondellbasell.com). The two types, “Purell HP 548 N“ and “Purell RP 315 M“, are said to be particularly suitable for medical devices, laboratory and diagnostic applications as well as pharmaceutical packaging, the company said.
The homopolymer “Purell HP 548 N” PP is nucleated and comes with an antistatic additivation. Thanks to its high rigidity and flowability, coupled with accelerated crystallisation and specific surface properties, it is particularly suitable for injection moulded products like ampules, medical devices and rigid packaging solutions, Albis said. By contrast, the key applications for the PP random copolymer “Purell RP 315 M” are flexible packaging for medical devices and pharmaceuticals, seals and labware – thanks to its outstanding sealing properties, good optical characteristics and what the group called “excellent” workability. The copolymer comes with slip and antiblocking additives and is processed on the base of a non-phthalate catalyst system.
The latest additions expand Albis’ existing “Purell” portfolio, which also includes LDPE and HDPE grades.
